Definition

Server-Guided Ad Insertion (SGAI) is a technology used in streaming that combines the benefits of client-side and server-side ad insertion ( and ) to deliver ads more effectively and seamlessly. In SGAI, the server utilizes manifest mechanisms to provide ad opportunity marking and priming with the player performing the final resolution and insertion. This allows for scaled real- ad personalization, linear and non-linear, while maintaining a smooth viewing experience and decoupling of content and ad workflows.
